Oppo F19 Launched in India, Sales Starting April 8th:

Oppo India has announced the arrival of the Oppo F19 in India, a month after the F19 Pro and F19 Pro+ 5G went on sale. The Oppo F19 will be available from April 8th on Flipkart and from April 9th on Amazon. The F19 will be priced at around Rs.19,000 in India which is slightly less than the Oppo F19 Pro that retails for Rs.21,490 on Flipkart, the F19 Pro+ 5G starts at Rs.25,990 on Amazon. The Oppo F19 will also be available in offline physical stores.

The F19 is similar to the F19 Pro & F19 Pro+ 5G in build and dimensions but there are a few differences between the 3 phones. The F19 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset while the F19 Pro comes with the MediaTek Helio P95 chipset & the F19 Pro+ 5G comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset and is the only 5G compatible smartphone of the three.

Display – The Oppo F19 comes with the same 6.4 inch AMOLED Punch-Hole display found on the F19 Pro with a typical brightness of 430 nits and peak of 800 nits. The screen resolution is 1080×2400 pixels (FHD+) with 409 ppi density and 20:9 aspect ratio.

Internals – The phone is run by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core chipset paired with a Adreno 610 GPU, it comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage. A under-display optical fingerprint sensor is present for security. There is dual SIM slot present along with a dedicated microSD card slot. The smartphone has dual band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB Type-C for charging and connectivity. A 3.5mm audio jack is also present. A single loud speaker handles audio duties.

Battery – F19 from Oppo has a 5000mAh battery and comes bundled with a 33W fast charger in the box claiming a 0 to 54% charge in 30 minutes with SuperVOOC 2.0 technology.

Cameras–The Oppo F19 has only 3 cameras as the ultra-wide sensor from the Oppo F19 pro has been omitted. The primary camera is a 48MP f/1.7 sensor supported by 2MP f/2.4 depth sensing camera and a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. A 16MP selfie camera is present at the front in the punch-hole of the display. The F19 also loses the ability to record in 4K that is present in the F19 Pro & Pro+ 5G models.

Software – The smartphone runs on Android 11 with Oppo’s ColorOS 11.1 UI skin on top.

The Oppo F19 weighs in at 175g approx. and comes in 2 colours – Prism Black & Midnight Blue. The Oppo F19 at Rs.19,000 does not make much sense as there are phones like the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note Pro Max in the same price range providing much better specifications and performance. It remains to be seen if the newly launched Oppo F19 strikes a chord with buyers and if it will be a hit offering from the sister company of OnePlus and Vivo.
